Street Wisdoms, Asians and Lots of Left Overs

This weekend I went to Atlanta to visit Hye Zhin, Nathan and Rachel. It was such a wonderful weekend! I was so happy to spend time with old friends :]
We ate Thai food for lunch on Saturday. It was so yummy. Then Nathan drove us all over Atlanta, guided by Hye Zhin’s excellent sense of direction.
We ended up going to Duluth [i think] and finding an H-mart. H-Mart is the best grocery store ever. It’s Asian therefore it’s awesome. There were lots of free samples plus a food court with legit Korean food! [We didn’t get any food but it smelled good!!] We tried a Korean ice-cream sandwich type thing. It was an ice-cream cone with vanilla ice-cream on the inside with a thin layer of chocolate, a layer of Korean rice cake and finally a layer of red bean paste. We were all a little hesitant to try it since it had red beans in it, but it was surprisingly really good!! To be honest, I would choose to eat that over a regular ice-cream sandwich. It was delicious!
So we had a cultural experience in the H-Mart. All I have to say is I would enjoy going grocery shopping if I could shop and an H-Mart!
Later we found an Olive Garden to eat dinner at. It was Hye Zhin’s first time to eat at an Olive Garden! Our waiter was pretty funny, his name was Jan and he was from the Philippines. At the end of the meal, none of us had finished our food. Hye Zhin asked for a to-go box, then our friend Jan brought everyone a to-go box. He didn’t want any of our left overs to go to waste, so we walked out of Olive Garden with everything we didn’t finish in a box [i.e. salad and all].
We took Rachel back to her Aunt’s house then headed to Emory for the night. I stayed with Hye Zhin in her dorm [THANKS!!!] We stayed up pretty late talking and I got to meet some of her friends on campus.
Sunday morning, Hye Zhin and I met Nathan, Mrs. O’Meara and Nathan’s grandma for breakfast at IHOP. Then Hye Zhin went back to Emory to study and the rest of us went to St. Mark’s United Methodist church in Atlanta to hear Rachel’s chorus perform during the church service. The chorus was excellent!!
After the church service we went to On the Boarder for lunch. [Thank you Mrs. O’meara!!!]
Then it was time for me to head back to Savannah :[ As I was driving home, I was thinking “How cool is it that I met these friends in Israel and now we’re hanging out in Atlanta!?!” It’s pretty crazy to me! All I know is 1. God has a plan that is so much bigger than me and 2. I am so blessed to have these friends in my life. Thanks Nathan, Rachel and Hye Zhin for letting me hang out with ya’ll this weekend, I had an absolutely wonderful time!! <3<3<3
