Happy 4th Y'all!

Happy 4th y'all, I hope everyone had a lovely holiday celebrating!! Even though we are in Italy and there are no fireworks we did celebrate. The Belzers were kind enough to invite everyone over to their apartment for a dinner party. Everyone brought a dish to share and we had a great time! Aside from that we didn't do much today. We met up with our group this afternoon for a tour of the Ospedale (hospital). The Ospedale was a working hospital from about 1000 up until the 1980s. It also housed a collection of Catholic relics, a large archaeological collection from surrounding Tuscan areas and an exhibit of a modern Sienese sculptor. The hospital was quite interesting to see, but it had an eerie feel to it as we wandered through it.

On a completely different note, last night we had our second cooking class! We made fresh focaccia and pizza with grilled veggies and chocolate flan with an orange berry sauce. YUM! And we got to eat out on the balcony with a beautiful view of the surrounding country side. So nice!

Just a heads up I will probably not have as much access to internet over the next few days. We are taking a trip to the south, for the weekend and will not be back in Siena until Tuesday. So unfortunately that means few or no posts over the next few days, but that just means there will be some big ones coming soon!

So until next time, Ciao!
